John Sullivan: joined WMTE (1340, Manistee) as News Director soon after the station went on the air in 1951. He moved to Burlington, VT and was a radio news director. In 1954, he became evening news anchor at WCAX, Vermont’s first television station. John joined the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) in 1962, where he remained until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, John and his wife moved to Vashon Island, Washington. He passed away in Seattle in 1999.
