Jim Hughes: was news director at WCEN and WCEN-FM from late November 1964 through June 1987. Jim started in radio at WIBM (then 1370, now 1450, Jackson) in 1938 and spent time at stations in Kalamazoo (WGFG), Ludington (WKLA), Flint (WTAC), Saginaw (WKNX & WSGW), Findlay,OH (WFIN), Alma (WFYC), Marquette (WDMJ), and Lansing prior to joining WCEN. He also did television work in the early days of WKNX-TV (Saginaw). Following WCEN, Jim worked for a short time at WCZY-FM (104.3, Mt. Pleasant)/WMMI (830, Shepherd). Jim is retired and resides in the Mount Pleasant area.
