Jack Hengartner: was an engineer at WMTE from May 64 until May 65 and consulted to the station for a period of time in the 1970s. He served as news director for the first half of his time at the station, then became program director. Jack was a staff engineer at WWTV in Cadillac from 1963-64 and again from 1968-73. He also worked in two-way radio in Illinois and Michigan in the 1960s. Jack joined the Michigan State Police in November '73 as a two-way radio engineer. A Manistee native (MHS class of '59), Jack retired from the Michigan State Police in 1997 and lives in Traverse City.
