Radio Days! is a tribute website to two former Michigan AM broadcast stations of
particular interest to this writer:
WCEN (1150 AM) in Mount Pleasant and
WMTE (1340 AM) in Manistee.
WCEN 1150 AM began broadcasting to the Mount Pleasant area on August 8, 1949. WCEN was a
part of that community until it went off the air in November of 2000 after
51 years.
WMTE 1340 AM served Manistee and vicinty beginning June 7, 1951. Almost sixty years later,
on September 30, 2010, WMTE (AM) finished its last broadcast day and went silent.
